Danat Resort in Jebel Dhanna, UAE

Sheesha pipes out on the beach

An outdoor room to smoke those pipes

Randy and Christine at the resort's front door:
"Let us in! We need a holiday!"

A view from our window of the resort

Another view of that beautiful Gulf water

A humorous view

Standing outside the resort, saying goodbye

That resort looks gorgeous!

Seeing the sheesha pipes on the beach reminded me that the first time I saw a sheesha. I was in college, and the sheesha in question had been brought back from "the UAE equivalent of a 7-11", whatever that means.

They were rare then, but today, despite no love for smoking in America in general and Indianapolis, they're popular and available at two nearby restaurants, one a Greek restaurant, the other a coffee shop / sheesha bar.

(I no longer partake, smoking is bad, ok.)

It looks beautiful, how far away were you from where you live?? The more I see your pictures, the more I think I will have to come and visit. I would be there without a doubt if it wern't for the little one.

That looks absolutely gorgeous! I hope you had a wonderful time! The water is sooo blue! I wish I could be there with you guys instead of in the middle of midterms... grr...

I must admit though that I've never heard a hookah called a sheesha... is it arabic or something?
