Anastasia's First Political Protest (by Randy)

Yesterday, 9 January 2009, marked the beginning of our weekend in Abu Dhabi (Friday is the Muslim holy day, so our weekend is Friday and Saturday). I took Anastasia for a walk yesterday afternoon along the Corniche (or waterfront along the Persian Gulf), and we stumbled across a political demonstration in support of the Palestinians who are currently suffering through Israel's slaughter in the Gaza Strip. We joined the march along the Corniche, along with thousands of others there. At the time of this writing, over 800 Palestinians, two-thirds of whom were children, have been murdered; 13 (not a typo) Israelis have died. A humanitarian crisis is currently unfolding there--check out one of my favourite sites, http://www.helpupa.com/, for more details...and to offer much-needed aid. They are a trustworthy site hailing from Washington, DC.

In other news, Anastasia is eating rice cereal now (she loves it...she has quite an appetite), she is sitting up, and she's exploring our flat in her walker, although she can really only move backwards right now...it's a height thing. Her feet don't quite hit the floor all the way.

auntjane...GOD does win in the end, but I am not sure that he is keeping you in the know.

GOD is on the side of good and honest people no matter where they are from -- Israel, Palestine, USA, etc...

Let there be piece on earth...

Of course, people who LOVE God anywhere find His favor and His salvation...Everywhere in the world, no matter where you live. But in matters of war, if you believe in God AND the Bible, you realize that He will always favor Israel. Joel 2:27 "And ye shall know that I AM in the midst of Israel, and that I AM the Lord your God..." Joel 3:2 "I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel..." And for those of you who only believe the New Testament, Romans 11:26 could not be any clearer, "And so all Israel shall be saved; As it is written, there shall come out of Zion the Deliverer..." You see, in the end, all nations eventually will turn against Israel, but God Himself will come down to save her! Watch and see!!!
